The Divorce That May Tear LA Apart
The McCourt’s were a family who bought the Dodgers back in 2004; the team had suffered severe losses in the recent years leaing up to sale, so Frank McCourt put the team in his name. In the meantime, to prevent possible creditors from their assets, all of the properties the McCourt family owned were put into Jamie McCourt’s name.
After 30 years of marriage, Jamie has filed for divorce in the State of California where “irreconcilable differences” is all that needs to be claimed.
Besides wanting her job back, she was fired on Monday, Jamie would like the perks, too.
- travel by private jet
- 5 star hotel accommodations
- travel expenses – Unlimited
- business dinners 5 nights per week
- business lunches 5 days per week
- parking spots at Dodger Stadium
- flowers in the office
- making Dodger Legends available for events without charge
- provision of Dodger autographed items as requested for use in business and charitable activities
- hair and makeup for Dodger events
- access to team doctors for McCourt family members
- access to the owner’s suite for Dodger home games and non-baseball events at the stadium
- Tickets to All-Star games and playoff games — even if the Dodgers aren’t playing
- a pass to all National League games
Sounds like a great life… too bad they couldn’t wait until the season was actually over for the Dodgers before they began all this.
