McNabb Refuses Oakland’s Appeal

It has been widely reported in the past few days that the Eagles are working on a trade with Oakland to get Donovan McNabb off their roster.  The only person not cool with this concept seems to be McNabb himself.

Donovan only has 1 year remaining on his contract, so seems like it is in Philly’s best insterest to re-negotiate with him so they can trade him away with more years intact.  Not many teams would risk money, draft picks and the like on a guy they will only have for one season.  It would be in Donovan McNabb’s best interest to put a trade approval clause in his contract, if he does re-negotiate.

The NFL draft is less than 3 weeks away with new QB talent looking ripe for the pickin’ too.

Tiger to Talk Some More

What else does Tiger have to say, other than “That’s between my wife and I,” and “That is a private matter”?

Tiger Woods will be having his interview for the Masters on April 5, and Dicky V over at ESPN is livid about it.  Dick Vitale gave numerous interviews earlier this week regarding his money maker, NCAA Basketball and all things Final Four, when he revealed his disgust for Tiger talking on what is such a big day for the National Championship game, and how he is taking the spotlight away from the kids.

Here’s the thing, if you are Tiger Woods and you really don’t have much more to say, but have to do a presser for The Masters, why not do it on a day that so much else is going on?  April 5th is the start of baseball and the finish of men’s college basketball, which would equal the best day to talk to the media.

Dancing With (Some of) the Stars?

Monday night, the newest Dancing with the Stars aired.  Pleaes note that the term “Stars” does apply loosely.  The show should really have the subtitle of “People whose names you may know of, but are not actually stars”.

Here’s the cast, and where you may know them from -

Aiden Turner – soap actor, All My Children, airs on ABC

Pamela Anderson – actress, model, best known for Baywatch

Chad Ochocinco – wide-receiver, Cincinnati Bengals

Erin Andrews – sports reporter, ESPN (owned by ABC)

Shannon Doherty – actress, best know for Beverly Hills, 90210

Buzz Aldrin – astronaut

Niecy Nash – actress, comedian, Reno 911

Evan Lysacek – 2010 Olympic gold-medalist, men’s figure skating

Kate Gosselin – reality tv personality, mom of 8, best known for Jon and Kate Plus 8

Jake Pavelka – reality tv personality, The Bachelor (also on ABC)

Nicole Scherzinger – singer/dancer, The Pussycat Dolls

I tuned in just in time for Pam, and the snippits of each performance.  Of course the ice skater and the singer do the best as they are used to choreography.  There is a completely different set of memorization techniques to click into for choreography and I miss it!

I will probably watch consistantly, but wonder how Chad Ochocinco will shoot this show and his new dating show.

The Madness of March

I filled out a bracket, just one.

I printed mine out from ESPN.com because the one on cbssports.com has advertising all over it, where as the ESPN one just has a small TIAA CREF logo at the bottom.

I’ve seen the end of ‘Nova / Robert Morris, and whatever else has been on between 12-1pm pt.

I have Kentucky winning, and Purdue beating Siena tomorrow, but not lasting past the 1st weekend, although I would *heart* to be wrong.

Tiger Woods and Golf

Finally some golf related news about Tiger… he has confirmed that he will play at The Masters.

It has been long speculated that there was absolutely no way that TW would miss The Masters, but the question was, would he come back and participate in a warm-up event first… No.

Look for Tiger to play like Kobe.  Everyone will be out there talking about Tiger’s Thanksgiving car crash and the personal details that errupted thereafter, just like Kobe and his trial in Colorado.   How many times did Kobe fly from court to where ever the Lakers were playing and light up the scoreboard?  There is peace is doing what you love, what you are great at.

On the golf course is where Tiger will show how great a man he is, at golf.  That’s all, great at golf.  There will be a peacefulness between him and the course… and distance between him and the media.

More Sports Stories on TMZ Than ESPN

Ok, not really.  But taking a look at TMZ just now, I have discovered that someone over there enjoys the sports talk as much as I do… Here are the sports releated stories on TMZ  -

Shaq and Wife Reach Divorce Settlement
Khloe Kardashian — My Sister is Public Emeny #1 (showing a pic of her with Lamar Odom)
NBA Star Arrested for DUI in Miami Beach
Sharapova & Vujacic Can’t Handle Each Other
Report: Tiger Woods Hires Dubya’s Spin Man
NBA Owner Accused of Screwing Pregnant Nanny
Nike to Vince Lombardi: Give Us Our Money Back!

And this does not even include an article that references Kyle Boller.

Mad For March

With all of the heightened basketball action in the past few days, I catch myself turning on whatever random game is one when I get home, and use it as the soundtrack for the little things I do when i get home… until I find something to watch.  I have caught the lesser known conferences airing their tournament games, and teams cutting down the net, NOT in HD… I use HD as the standard to know what show is good, important, and has money behind it.  I will watch The Biggest Loser, which is not in HD, because it is an awesome show.

I will say that I am T-minus 14 days from going to Las Vegas for the 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tourney.  It is my favorite weekend to go, and had been a tradition for many years.

Big Ben is Accused Again

*sigh*

I dislike repeating information like this, but apparently Ben Roethlisberger is again being accused of sexual assault, according to TMZ

Stuff like this does make me sad, you hope that these guys who are so successful are good guys.  When negative stories like this come out about men, who so many look up to and admire for their talent and acheivement, it is just sad.
