Micheal Vick is elegible to returned to the NFL regular season gridiron today, and yes the animal right activists are out at the stadium right now. I still don’t know how I feel about him playing. My heart is bigger for the animals he trained, fought, and killed than it is for his bad decision making, influence of his friends and childhood, and his bankruptcy.

Dear Micheal -
Today is a Saturday; you used to dominate these days. Now you should be playing on Sundays, transitioning to the NFL with your amazing talent, skill, knowledge, and speed.
Instead, you ar sitting in your own limbo. The 10th pick o the 2009 NFL draft, and you are not with your team. We all know that whatever conditioning you are doing on your own does not keep you game ready.
The 49er’s are going to move on without you. The team is not bigger than any one man, although you and your agent/advisor/etc. seem to feel otherwise.
It is what it is. You got hurt and couldn’t participate in the combine. You still went awfully high in th draft, sight unseen.
I suggest you sign and get back to being with your team, instead of a lone man on an island, where the only knowledge of you is not by your fantastic play, but because you are holding out, claiming to be treated unfairly…the you deserve more.
FYI – I don’t agree with anyone who is completely unproven beyond their Saturday playing dys commanding a truck load of funds upfront for services not redered.
Why don’t you render some services and load the contract with incentives for good play. If you were confident in yourself, you could do it. It seems like you want a lot af funding now for your cause, almost as if you know this is your only chance to get paid, ever.
Make the public a fan of you again, sign a contract, and get to playing… you belong on the field on Sunday, not at your home watching everyone else.
Best regards-
Kate
…Where ranked, road team go to die.
I said the same thing last year. Wow, Ole Miss. I didn’t know why y’all were ranked so high in the first place. Honestly, I had no idea.
It’s ok, you are who I knew you were. I got to watch your highlights while David Ryan Harris was tuning up before his set at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach.
Usually I would try to watch some of the Thursday night college football live, however I am a traditionalist and believe college football is for Saturdays only, and with the games on so early here in Los Angeles, I am busy enjoying the sunshine while it lasts until “fall back”.
Back to the status quo, I have prepared my picks for today & Monday night. I am dissappointed to report that I do not get NFL Sunday Ticket with my new Verizon subscription, as Sunday Ticket is only available if you do not have Fois cable, and my neighborhood jut got routed with this new stuff.

Good luck today. Expect Drew Brees to have another great game and possibly set a passing record this year.
For being a Purdue alum, I still find it difficult to awaken early enought to make it to the bar for a 9am PST kickoff.

FYI – I closed escrow on a home yesterday, so now I am officially a homeowner. I bought a fixer, so my time, energy, and most importantly, funds are now being dumped into this dwelling.
I’ve been trying to set up Verizon for my cable, internet, phone for a bit now and still have not been able to send the transaction through. Part of this is because I cannot get the right phone number. The other part, after I get a good number, is that I get to the end and they want me to call a representative. I don’t want to talk to them…
The first weekend of the NFL brought a 5-day stretch of games that were all over the board. Instead of making picks, I went to opening day at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltmore.
It’s fun to immerse oneself into another city and see how their fans participate. In all reality, I was just glad to witness a game in person. I got to the stadium well before they opened after landing in Baltimore at 6am.
I was dissappointed to learn the stadium didn’t open until 11:30am while the game was at 1p. I am one who enjoys the warm-up. Seeing the players, still in their shorts & shirts, listening to music, talking, stretching, and getting into game mode.
So, I got to see the punter & longsnapper working as well as the kick returners, until the remainder of the eams came out dressed to work. It was ridiculously hot on Sunday, and what is up with the purple fatigues?
It was easier to twitter while I saw the scores, and good job Drew Brees! Anyone who has him on their fantasy team will certainly be in good position.
Monday night brought 2 close games and it was a tough task for this LA girl to stay up until 1:30am while visiting DC this week. Wow, the Chargers should not have won that game at all.
I feel like this is going by too fast. Like my college football season is being rushed as I watch College Gameday this morning from the Ohio State/USC match-up… knowing that Kirk Herbstreit is going to show his kids off at the end of the show.
I’ve been living in a world of real estate lately, signing papers, finding capitol, and getting insurance while I hear small talk about Matt Barkley not taking a snap in the shot-gun last week, how Oregon needs to beat Purdue or else their season will go downhill fast with the rest of their match-ups before the Pac-10 season starts, and how no-one knows if Notre Dame is better than Michigan this year.
UCLA @ Tennessee – Vols
Texas @ Wyoming – Longhorns
Stanford @ Wake Forest – Cardinal
Fresno State @ Wisconsin – Badgers
Illinois State @ Illinois – Redbirds
South Carolina @ Georgia – Gamecocks
Notre Dame @ Michigan – Wolverines
Purdue @ Oregon – Boilermakers
USC @ OSU – Trojans
That’s the way I see it…
P.S. – Kirk’s boys are too adorable!!! Thank goodness they have gotten a bit older that they aren’t scared being on set now.
Well, that was easy. It only took the first NFL game of the regular season to have the guy on the cover of the Madden NFL game to get injured. Ok, one of the guys on the cover…
So, Thursday night, Troy Polamalu left the Steelers vs. Titans game with a knee injury…thus keeping the curse intact. True, Larry Fitzgerald still has to get some sort of injury for the curse to be fully intact.
Maybe the folks at EA Sports thought, “What are the odds that if we put two players on the cover, both would get hurt?”
