The HBO series Hard Knocks will be following the Bengals this pre-season. The Bengals stunk last season, yet have a great mix of characters… well, they have Chad Ocho Cinco.
I’ll get sucked in and watch like I always do… not sure if it is because I love football, or just like to watch everything that goes into getting geared up for the season. If I really wanted to go watch training camp in person, I could always drive to San Diego (Chargers) or Oxnard (Cowboys) but I would no be able to get the same access… yet.
I wonder if they will show the cool spots to hit up in the ‘Nati?
Being a spokesperson for a product or service is a pretty awesome job. Plenty of celebs, sports and otherwise, covet these deals because they are pretty much no fail ways to generate a bigger name and bank account.
Of course we are all familiar with Chares Barkley & Dwayne Wade with their T-Mobile ads (lately Yao Ming has been added – “Eat the head!”), Andy Roddick is in the high speed internet game, in addition to Lexus & Lacoste, then there are LeBron’s awesome Nike Basketball ads.
I fell in love with and rewound what I’ll call “Rings” for about 15 mins. During the Magic/Celtics game 6, and the following texts, started by Cory, insued-
Cory – OMFG. Have you seem the Nike commercial of Kobe & LeBron where Kobe is looking for his 3 championship rings??? Fabulous.
Kate – Was it just on?
C – yeah
K – Let me rewind. I got up
K – Oh snap! The puppets?
C – lol yeah
K – Oh snap, will you look at that… Ya’ll playin hide n seek wit me?
C – Why do we even live together?
K – lmfao
C – I know right?!
K – I love it. Watch over and over
C – You gotta be HUNGRY LeBron *Kobe furiously eats cookies* I’m talkin bout STOMACH…GROWLIN! lol
K – Hello gorgeous
Now truth be told, the Most Valuable Puppets ads have been circulating the internet with “Chalk” debuting a few days ago, but I have other things to do, I mean, I haven’t really been updating this very much, and after facebook, this is my internet priority.
Now that he’s got popped for violating the substance abuse policy, Manny Ramirez is out 50 games, and I have no reason to go see the Dodgers any time soon.
For as long as it took to get a contract between Manny & the Dodgers, with the over-hyping from Scott Boras, one would think Team Manny would go thru hell & high water to keep every last penny. I guess the Dodgers win, they now have a discounted Manny.
Manny’s statement isn’t half bad-
“Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.
“I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I’m sorry about this whole situation.” – Manny Ramirez
Yes, it was a big week for me! Now, I have come under the weather and people start uttering swine flu….. anyway, I don’t think that is the problem.
The birthday was a huge success Tuesday nite, and last Friday we ended the celebration at 12 + Highland in Manhattan Beach. Big thanks to the staff therre for making everything A-OK.
