NFL Playoff Parties

If I was to be in the Pittsburgh, PA area this weekend, I would hit this place up.

Hosted by Super Bowl XL Champion Chukky Okobi (Purdue alum) and costing $105 per person per day, this will be a stellar way to watch the games this weekend.

It is BYOB, however, and make you arrive alive, don’t drink & drive.

Rose Bowl Update

We all know that the kids over at Southern Cal. are bored out of their minds with Disneyland, Lawry’s, and all the other mandatory Rose Bowl activities that they are scheduled for in the area they already call home.

Too bad they don’t know what’s going on in the world.  TMZ had their cameras in Beverly Hills when the trojans went to Lawry’s for the “Beef Bowl”.  Needless to say, some kids should have said “no comment,” or “Just focusin’ on the gameplan against Penn State.”

Coach Pete Carroll was none too pleased with the humiliation according to TMZ.

In a side note, I think Penn State has THE best uniforms in football, period.

NFL Picks – Week 17

Well, here we are… the last weekend of the regular season.  There just isn’t enough room for everybody in contention today.  There are plenty of “if, then” scenarios… here’s how I see it.

St. Louis @ Atlanta : Falcons

New England @ Buffalo : Patriots

Kansas City @ Cincinnati : Cheifs

Detroit @ Green Bay : Packers

Tennessee @ Indianapolis : Colts

NY Giants @ Minnesota : Vikings

Carolina @ New Orleans : Saints

Cleveland @ Pittsburgh : Steelers

Oakland @ Tampa Bay : Buccaneers

Chicago @ Houston : Texans

Jacksonville @ Baltimore : Ravens

Washington @ San Francisco : 49ers

Miami @ NY Jets : Jets

Dallas @ Philadelphia : Eagles

Seattle @ Arizona : Cardinals

Denver @ San Diego : Chargers

Although the Saints are out of it, Drew Brees is going for a huge record.  He needs 400+ passing yards to take the single-season passing record.  Plenty of teams already locked in are resting starters – Colts, Steelers, while other teams are just playing for pride – Lions.

I wonder how long it will take before the Broncos and Chagers throw fists in the Q,

Spotted – Pau Gasol

Spotted: Pau Gasol
Location type: strip mall / shopping center on PCH
Location: Whole Foods
City: Redondo Beach, CA
Intel received: 2:22p / real time
Condition: wearing a hoodie, he is so tall that he was able to blow around the paper snowflakes that dangled from the ceiling.  An attractive, tall, blonde 20-something near him in line, told him he did a good job Thursday night.  He said “Oh, thank you.”  Funny thing, the lady was wearing a long-sleeve Hornets shirt.

Tom Brady Pops Gisele THE Question

So, ladies & gents, the hunt is over.  In what is the collective sigh of single women across the country, Tom Brady is not only a dad, but soon to be husband.

Tom asked Gisele to marry him on Christmas Eve.  TMZ has the details.

One can only question how many girls will burn their Brady jerseys in protest, because no one wants to be the fan of the hott guy that there is absolutely no chance of snagging.

Armstrong to be a Dad, again.

It what is a stunner, Lance Armstrong has been seeing someone (she’s a normal citizen).  What’s even further off the course is that he’s gotten her pregnant according to Perez Hilton.

Quinn Punched By Smith

Things are all a mess over there in Cleveland.  So much so, that defensive end Shaun Smith punched quarterback Brady Quinn in the face last week.

From ESPN.com -

And as he began what could be his last week in Cleveland, Crennel had to address a physical altercation that took place last week between quarterback Brady Quinn and defensive end Shaun Smith.

According to WKYC-TV’s Jim Donovan, who is also the team’s play-by-play radio announcer, Smith punched Quinn in the face following a heated verbal exchange inside the team’s weight room. Browns tight end Darnell Dinkins confirmed the fight during a radio interview on WQAL, saying Quinn’s face was marked.

Quinn is out for the season following surgery on a broken finger. Smith, who has been slowed by a calf injury, did not play in Sunday’s game. Crennel said Smith was inactive because of a coaches’ decision.

Crennel refused to comment directly on the Smith-Quinn flare-up.

“I never talk about family business,” Crennel said. “I haven’t talked about family business since I’ve been here. So I’m not going to address it at this point or start talking about it. If it happened, it stays in house.”

Crennel said conflicts among teammates are not uncommon, especially in a season as frustrating as the one the Browns are enduring.

Shaun should really watch where he lands those punches, Brady is the spokesman for a few items and you never know when he has to mug for the camera.  Plus, I still think he should go be an Abercrombie & Fitch model, instead.

With Christmas just 4 days away, I know alot of people will be out at the malls trying to get everything together for the holiday, so take this opportunity to go somewhere where they have the ticket, so you can see these games.

Bloom Back To Skiing

Jeremy Bloom, the freestyle skiier & former Colorado Buffaloes receiver, has gone back to skiing after the NFL didn’t work out for him.

It was announced Tuesday that he made the US freestyle skiing team.  I’m bummed, I was pulling for him in the league.  He was drafted by the Eagles in 2006, but sustained an injury… he ended up signing with the Steelers in 2007 for the playoffs, and went to training camp for them in 2008, but didn’t make the roster.

NFL Picks – Week 15

I was very disturbed my the Saints loss on Thursday at Chicago.  I had believed that the Saints, wth Drew Bress, wold be able to take this one from the Bears… as the Bears are not that great offensively.  What cost the Saints this win was their defensive play in the secondary.  Those penalties are awful, and difficult for te rest of the team to play even higher in order to overcome & correct.

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta : Falcons

Washington @ Cincinnati : Redskins

Detroit @ Indianapolis : Colts

San Diego @ Kansas City : Cheifs

Seattle @ St. Louis : Seahawks

San Francisco @ Miami : Dolphins
