Congrats to the Lakers and my favorite player Derrick Fisher on 5 titles.
to all the folks in downtown, if I can see you on tv right now, destroying property, breaking newpaper boxes, and trying to flip vehicles over, knock it off! Go home! You don’t belong in LA… what you are doing is not fun, classy, or in the spirit of winning.
Of course I am watching the NBA Finals! How could I not?
Please trust that I am very tempted to answer an ad on Craigslist regarding some guy needing a date for game #2. I, however, will not be making such a wager. I’d be there already if going to a Lakers-Celtics NBA finals game was that important to me. That’s the thing about life, you find a remedy. If it is going to the game, you find the means, the cash, whatever.
I’m looking for the Lakers to do this in 6. The keys will be fouls, bench support, and points in the paint.
Anyway, if you are interested in taking me, a stranger, to any of the Finals games email me thru here or tweet me. I’ll get dinner & 2 rounds of drinks.
Work with whatcha got.
Hi Utah Jazz fans! You don’t know me, but my family calls me Katie, and boys who like me call me Kate.
Anyway, I digress, if any of you Jazz fans were at the game tonight wearing your “Fisher Lied” shirts (or any variation thereof), I wonder about you. I have heard questions about you, like people ask if you have a soul. Other questions range from uncertainty whether you don’t know what you are talking about or just thought you wanted to get on tv by wearing your trendy trucker hat and attempting to look pretty.
The only pretty thing I can find is pretty sorry. I know not all Jazz fans feel like Fisher broke his contract and handed back $8 million on a chance that he could win more rings with the Lakers, a team who was no where near willing to sign him at the time of the issues surrounding his daughter who is currently in remission from eye cancer.
I will not try to plead Derek’s case for him, you can do the research and talk to NBA insiders and analysts for the story if you missed it. I will say that Fish has been a classy guy. He’s a classy ball player and someone that can truely be considered a role model and mentor.
I don’t want to give more attention to the individuals who felt this was the appropriate way to display their feelings of Derek’s departure, but this is wrong, classless, tacky, and deplorable fan behavior that I don’t think Larry Miller would agree as a display of a true Jazz fan.
If you don’t know what I am talking about, go to 4:22 left in the 1st half of TNT’s coverage of the Lakers/Jazz game. Maybe I will post a pic later.

TMZ has it, Gilbert Arenas plead guilty to a felony gun charge… no word yet if he will transfer to be Plaxico’s cell-ey. With the suspension from the NBA, Arenas is best served to get sentenced immediately.
Arenas used to maintain a blog “Agent Zero:The Blog File” but it was moved to NBA Fan Voice some time ago… as of now the current player blogs are Luke Walton, Eric Gordon, Caron Butler, and Danny Granger.
Plaxico Burress may be released as soon as Spring, 2011.
I do not watch SNL on Saturday nights when it airs because I am either out or sleeping… it is always one of the two.
So I finally watched, and I had already heard the criticism… Charles Barkley had to stare at the cue cards, Chuck keeps breaking character, Barkley isn’t funny, could they not write any sketches where Charles plays himself.
I agree with much of the critics and wonder if Charles only showed up on Saturday, or participated in the week that is supposed to be awesome, and so fun to be part of. It really does seem like he tried to wing it. Or, has the writing really taken a nose-dive and Chuck is a victim of the material brought forth… either way, he may have committed the worst hosting of SNL by an athlete.
In the constitution to these great United States of America, the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights allows for the right to bear arms. I completely agree with this, however, there is a lot to be said about carrying a gun without a permit in a public place, and bringing a gun into your workplace and waiving it around.
If any one of us regular citizens brought a gun into work, or any other weapon, I am sure that not onl would we be fired, but the police would be notified, and te legal course would ensure.
Apparently, some public figures in the relam of athletics look at a weapon like a gun as a toy, or threat making device in which they wouldn’t really have to pull the trigger to save themselves.
Newer face of the NBA, Gilbert Arenas, has been suspended indefinately after having brought guns into the ___ where they play. In the wake of the incident, Coach Flip Saunders has banned gambling on the team plane.
As for gambling on the plane, the coach said he did away with that on December 21 – the date of the locker room confrontation between Arenas and Javaris Crittenton in which Arenas allegedly pulled out guns he was keeping in his locker. The teammates’ dispute began during a card game on a trip home from the West Coast two days earlier.
In non-professional hoops news, Tennessee Vol Tyler Smith was dismissed from the team after being arrested on misdemoner drug and gun charges. The other 3 players involved, guard Cameron Tatum, center Brian Williams and point guard Melvin Goins have been suspended indefinately. The foursome were arrested on Jan. 1… not really the way to start the year!
The NBA had a HUGE opening Tuesday with the Celtics delivering a win against the new, Shaq-added, Cavaliers… and the Lakers getting their Champsionship rings before they beat the Clippers.
For the ring ceremony, new Laker Ron Artest sat in the locker room; added motivation to get one of his own. Noticed courtside besides the usual movie stars, musicians, and professional athletes was Mrs. Odom herself, Khloe Kardashian.
With the NBA starting, MLB ending, NFL halfway over, and NHL somewhere lost in the frey, this is the only time of year that all four major sports are being played. I question why.
*NEVER will be defined as Nike removing video tape from those recording footage at LeBron’s skills camp, of any event of LeBron James being dunked on, that may or may not have happened.
You all knew someone had to have had some video of this still right? The quality may not be too good, but TMZ will air the video tonight on their broadcast, according to their website. I love the below statement from Jordan Crawford-
“I am excited to see the tape along with my family and Xavier teammates.
It was a great honor to be one of the 25 college players invited to the LeBron James Skill Academy and I am very appreciative of Nike for this opportunity.
Competing on the court with perhaps the best player in the world was a great experience and it’s raised my level of excitement for the upcoming college basketball season.”
I love how nothing about the event that never* happened is mentioned. Someone was coached on what to say.
Check your local listings for this… althought, I’m practically positive they’ll put it up on their site after the show airs.
Yes, I am a total lame-o for not posting immediately when I arrived home from Game 2 of the NBA Finals. BUt, I did hve company in town, specifically for THAT game, so I had to entertain… and watch myself on the replay of SportsCenter from the plaza at L.A. Live.
Awesome seats!!!! Sat in the 200s because I get too nervous sitting in the 300s.

Goodness, for it t go overtime was amazing. I did get some swag while there… but I really wanted a Lakers NBA Finals koozie.
